Ian Neff is a designer and craftsman originally from Columbia, South Carolina. He attended Belhaven University, pursuing his undergraduate degree in Theatre with a Production Emphasis and a minor in Art. He’s wanted to be backstage in the theatre, and sometimes on stage, ever since his childhood watching and crewing his sister’s dance performances.
Before attending University, he worked at the historic Town Theatre in his hometown as a technical assistant on multiple shows, including the musicals Bright Star and Jekyll and Hyde. He has worked as a scenic carpenter for The Opera at the University of South Carolina on La Belle Halènè and Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre’s 40th season featuring Fiddler on the Roof, The Drowsy Chaperone, and The Wizard of Oz.
Ian seeks to create quality art that cultivates a longing in others for something higher than themselves and inspires a desire to create beautiful things. He is passionate about his faith and seeks to serve others with his work, treating what he creates as a gift to those around him and an audience. He is continuously interested in puzzling things and seeks to maximize the tools and resources available to him to their full extent.
He’s always interested in a new partner in crime for a fruitful endeavor. Message him with any propositions you may be interested in. Thanks.
